Welcome to the website for Europe's longest running VW Show

The new venue, Herts County Showground, Redbourn, Herts, is a facility which we hope will become the home of Action for many years. After visiting Stoneleigh, Weston Park, back to Stoneleigh, and on to Peterborough, the show and its organising teams are beginning to get travel-sick! So if it's OK with you, we'll stay here just as long as we can. After two 'VW Action Summer Parties' and 2003's 'VW Action' proper everybody seems to have given the new venue the 'thambs up' and everybody found that the venue is an absolute doddle to get to, sitting alongside Junction 9 of the M1.

Although the venue has changed, all the familiar features of Action will be staged here at the new facility. The Every Day Vehicle Concours, Cal and Custom Concours, the Concours D'Elegance, the Action Club Olympics and two nights of music in the Big Top/Marquee. The Fairground. The Big Screen Movies, Children's Area, Cars for Sale, Club Displays, Trade Stands, Caterers, Bar, Autojumble, Bug Push, Penalty Shootout, Spacehopper Racing etc.

Not least he ever popular VW Action Charity Auction and everything else you know to expect from a show that has developed a winning formula over more than a quarter of a century.

Anyone who was in the Big Top last year, at the end of the 'Welcome To Hades' Disco Inferno, can probably still bring to mind the sound of several thousand VW enthusiasts, arms aloft, singing 'Daydream Believer' long after the music had finished. This year, the marquee will also be 'themed', this website giving a big clue.

Old (VW) favourite 'Samba' Ben Lawrence makes a welcome return with his brand of 'house mix' on Friday night along with other guests, and crowd favourites from last year, Loggy and Trademark. If hard-hitting 'dance' is your bag . . . get to the Big Top EARLY on Friday evening.

The 'revitalised' Action has been running now for 8 years under our 'management'. The direction of the show has consistently been for it to get bigger and better. Each year presents us with new challenges and new opportunities. Action will always be the show that covers the broadest spectrum of the VW scene, enjoyed equally by old buffers, new kids on the block, and that elite band that were the new kids on the block but have turned in to old buffers over the last decade or so? (You know who you are!) If you are tomorrow's VW enthusiast, then the Children's VWorld area is just the place for you. If you're too old to party, there's the various displays, concours events, trade stands etc. For everyone in between, well . . . the show's your oyster Rodders!!

VW Action works because of a dedicated core of VW enthusiasts who assist in running the show, and the dedicated VW enthusiasts who insist on supporting Europe's longest running VW event. The VW content of Action is seen to be fundamentally important to the success of the show. Last year saw Action involved in Stu Betty's Nostalgia Display, Action was not the first show to be graced by the back to '89 nostalgia cars, but true to form, it was the best both in presentation and exhibit quality. We expect more of the same this year.

The 2004 show will be the Action you know and love, only better. Welcome to Action, and to Herts County Showground. The new home of Europe's favourite VW event!!
